Delight your loved ones with a delicious and very satisfying dinner of juicy chop with sweet boiled apples and homemade wine sauce! This dish will be liked both on a typical day and as a treat at a festive feast or even a romantic dinner.
Time for preparing: 35 minutes (15 minutes of active time)
1. Preheat oven to 205 degrees.
2. In a small bowl, pour 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of pepper, cumin, dried garlic powder and onion powder, mix. Dry the pork chops with a dry paper towel to draw out excess moisture, season with a mixture of seasonings on both sides. In a large frying pan, pour olive oil, heat over medium heat to a slight boil. Put the pork in it and let it roast for about 4 minutes, until one side is browned. Then turn the chops and put the pan in the oven. Bake for about 10 minutes. If you have a thermometer for the oven, stick it in the hardest part of the chop – the pork will be ready when the temperature on the thermometer reaches 63 degrees. Then put the meat on a large plate and cover with foil.
3. In the meantime, while the pork is cooking, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Throw in sliced apples, a pinch of salt, sugar (plain and brown), cinnamon, nutmeg, pour in rum and water, mix. Bring the ingredients to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer until the apples are soft, about 5 minutes. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the lemon juice and pour it into the boiling apple mixture. Simmer until thicker for about another 2 minutes. Then set the pan aside.
4. When the pork is ready, put the frying pan in which it was baked on a strong fire. Pour wine there and boil, scraping the remaining pieces of meat and spices from the bottom. Add the chicken broth there and simmer for about 7 minutes, until the contents of the pan are halved (evaporated). Remove the pan from the heat and immediately add the remaining butter. Serve the wine sauce and apples on a separate plate.
