This dish is loved in every family. It is tasty and satisfying. Today I offer you the recipe of pilaf using barberry, which gives the dish a slight sourness and a pleasant light aroma.
I wanted to bring something new to the usual pilaf and was pleased with the result. Although many cook rice with this spice very often.
I will warn you right away that the amount of ingredients that I have indicated below was calculated for ten or twelve people.
Time for preparing: 1,5 hour.
To prepare pilaf with barberry, we need:
1) a piece of pork -1 kg
2) a pack of steamed rice –1 kg
3) dried barberries
4) onions – 1-2 pcs
5) ground black pepper, salt, coriander
6) medium carrots – 2 pieces
Grind onions and ship to a large cauldron.
Cooking in a thick-bottomed saucepan without using fat (vegetable oil).
In the meantime, cut the pork pulp into medium sized pieces.
Sent to shredded onions.
Wash rice. If possible, it is better to do this several times.
Put the cereal in a saucepan on top of the pork and pour the contents of the dish with water. Stir the ingredients is not desirable.
Liquid should be twice as much as rice with meat. And if you cook in an ordinary pot, then three times more.
Cover with a lid and leave to prepare.
After half an hour of stewing, put a large garlic head, washed and cleaned from the top husk, in the center of the pan. It is not necessary to completely clean it.
Twenty minutes before the end of cooking pilau, sprinkle rice with dried barberry. A very tasty dish of rice cereal using these berries will turn out very tasty.
Then, grate the carrots and place them in the pilaf.
When the dish is ready, throw away the garlic.
This amount of pilaf was enough for twelve people to get enough.
